Color Now! - Resilience (Silk/Retted Bamboo) - 226 November Maverick

Price: $53.00

Color Now! gives you the opportunity to purchase perfectly dyed yarns that ship out immediately—no waiting for your yarn to be dyed especially for you!

Supplies of Color Now! are limited. The color shown here is available, but there may only be 1 or 2 skeins in this color.   Please note that Resilience yarn dyes a bit "heathery"  The silk and retted bamboo fibers are blended before being spun into yarn. The bamboo doesn't take the dyes that we use for silk--the result is a softened version of the color, more apparent in our darker colors.

Our bamboo is special as it is "retted" (similar to linen) rather than "extruded" (like rayon).  It is difficult to find retted bamboo.

There are over 1,000 types of bamboo which grows all over the world. It is a renewable resource that is extremely fast growing, ready for harvest in 1–4 years, generates more oxygen than trees and is exceptionally hardy, tolerating drought and drowning.

The bamboo fibre is filled with micro gaps and holes enabling it to absorb and evaporate perspiration quickly, making it cool, breathable, anti–bacterial and good summer wear.

Blending bamboo with silk brings a cool and crisp almost papery feel to the silk while softening the bamboo. The silk/bamboo yarn combines nicely with silk/cotton, silk/ramie or 100% silk for nice summer weight fabric.

For more ideas using Resilience, refer to Handwoven Magazine N/D 2018 issue, Yarn Lab p63-64, by Judy Stewart.

Our skeins sizes vary a bit in size, ranging between 90-110grams, with the average skein being 100 grams.

We’ve listed the price for the AVERAGE weight skein.  We charge by the gram, so if your skein is a bit lighter, you’ll pay a bit less and if your skein is a bit heavier, you’ll pay a bit more.  If you need specific yardage for a project, please let us know in the comments section at check out so we can select the correct skein(s) for you.

Once your skein is pulled and weighed, we will adjust your price and then process your credit card. We will call you if we have any questions.
