Kit - Knitting - Trousseau Silk Stockings

Price: $17.00 - $24.99

Mimi Seyferth designed and knitted these heirloom Trousseau Silk Stockings to knit for a special somone, using fingering weight Alirio-thicker (100% bombyx noil).  The pattern was published in Piecework May/June 2017 Lace Issue, p33-36

You can purchase the undyed yarn (approx 100g) with or without the Piecework issue.

For our dyed Alirio-thicker that is ready to ship (Color Now!) click here (please note, we have Alirio-Thicker and sure to select the Alirio-THICKER yarn for your project)

Or, to select the color you want for your Alirio-thicker dyed, go to ‘Dye My Order’  (dyeing will be extra charge, billed separately)  If questions, call us toll free 1.888.383.7455 (silk) or email

Silk Noil is also called "bourette."  Noil yarn is made from short fibres left behind after making higher quality spun silk. Impurities (crushed pupa) are also in these fibers.

The short fiber length results in less luster than other spun silk yarns. Noil has the strongest silk odor due to impurities in the yarn. The majority of the smell dissipates after washing, but can return again when wet.

Thank you Piecework magazine for the lovely photo of the socks.
