Inspired by and named for actual roses, this 65 Roses® colorway is perpetual..we continue to dye it.

65 Roses donation

“65 Roses®” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.

Treenway Silks donates a minimum 10% of sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Since developing the 65 Roses® colorways in 2017, Treenway Silks has donated $60,000 through March 31, 2026—we appreciate your support as we work toward our 2026 goal!

T&R Shinju description

Shinju—100% Spun Silk, tightly twisted
--similar in size #5 perle
--3-ply thread, not designed to separate the strands
--the twist is tight, but it doesn't twist back upon itself.
--the beauty of this thread is amplified when stitching knots, such as Bullion Knots, Bullion Loops, French Knots and Bullion Roses to name just a few.  If you wrap in what many stitchers consider to be the “right direction", your stitching appears matte and organic. If you wrap it in the opposite direction, your stitching is detailed and firm, plus the thread has a reflective sheen.
--suitable for decorative stitches on 13- or 18-mesh canvases
--perfect for wool felt embroidery

The silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm, often referred to as "mulberry" silk.
"Shinju" means pearl in Japanese.

10 yards (1/2 skein fits onto a standard sewing machine bobbin)

About Dyeing & Washing Instructions

Hand-dyed in Colorado--color fast.
We use acid dyes for all of our silk dyeing.
We heat the silk until all of the dye is absorbed.  We allow the silk to cool down overhight.
We rinse the silk until the water runs clear.

Wash instructions:  Using a drop or two of a mild soap, wash in cool or COLD water for no more than 5 minutes.  Let dry.  Iron, if desired, using the Silk setting on your iron.
