Bombyx silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm...also called mulberry silk, because the silk worm eats only mulberry leaves.

Salt Spring Island colorways are hand-painted in Colorado.  Our silks are colorfast (cold water wash) and our colorways are consistent.  Hand-painting silk sliver is a labor-intensive process. It requires careful manipulation and effort to achieve even color coverage on silk sliver.
