Kit - Weaving - "Summer & Winter Stripes" Scarves by Ginger Kaldenbach
4-Shaft, TWO Scarves Weaving Kit
Ginger Kaldenbach's publishing debut in Handwoven Magazine is the May/June 2016 issue. This issue's theme is "light & dark" and Ginger nailed it! You can see her project details on pages 46-48.
Ginger selected the ever-versatile Summer & Winter weave structure for 4-shaft loom. She designed undulating stripes, moving across the width of the scarf.
In addition to light & dark, Ginger opted for a matte/shiny effect. She achieved this by selecting matte Noil silk in black for the warp and ground weft. Then Zola, spun bombyx silk, for the pattern weft, giving a lovely sheen.
These scarves have lovely drape; they're a bit heavier than you might expect, making them perfect for cooler days and evenings.
What we love most about the design of this scarf is it's a great design for men or women.
Plus, there are so many color possibilities...we got carried away and are offering four options:
1) As designed by Ginger: #16 Sea Spray and #57 Raven Black silk noil
2) #16 Sea Spray and #4 Rendezvous Blue silk noil
3) #16 Sea Spray and Natural (undyed) silk noil
4) #225 Captain Olive and #57 Raven Black silk noil
**if the option doesn't appear in the drop down box, it's been sold out. Contact us to see if we can dye more**
