The shine of the Bombyx silk is reflected in this colorway...it just glows like a trout catching the sunlight as it leaps into the air.

Bombyx silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm...also called mulberry silk, becuase the silk worm eats only mulberry leaves.

Salt Spring Island colorways are hand-painted in Colorado.  Our silks are colorfast and our colorways are consistent.  Hand-painting silk sliver is a labor-intensive process. It requires careful manipulation and effort to achieve even color coverage on silk sliver.
