65 Roses® 'Islas de Rosario' - Thread, Shinju (#5 silk perle)

Price: $12.00

Shinju 100% spun silk, tightly twisted, size #5 perle - 10 yards

Inspired by and named for actual roses, this 65 Roses® colorway is perpetual..we continue to dye it.

We wanted to add an aqua-blue, watery colorway, but there are no naturally occuring aqua roses.  Applying a bit of creative license to our rose inspired theme, we found Islas de Rosario (Rose Islands), an archipelago off the coast of Columbia, South America, with beautiful aqua blues waters.  Click HERE to see Islas de Rosario (and why its now on my bucket list!)

“65 Roses®” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.

Treenway Silks donates a minimum 10% of sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Since developing the 65 Roses® colorways in 2017, Treenway Silks has donated $11,400 through March 31, 2022—we appreciate your support as we work toward our 2022 goal!

Shinju—100% Spun Silk, tightly twisted

--similar in size #5 perle
--3-ply thread, not designed to separate the strands
--precise twist aids in creating incredibly tight stitches
--the beauty of this thread is amplified when stitching knots, such as Bullion Knots, Bullion Loops, French Knots and Bullion Roses to name just a few
--suitable for decorative stitches on 13- or 18-mesh canvases

Hand-dyed in Colorado--color fast. We use acid dyes with heat and then rinse until water runs clear.
Wash in tepid or cool/cold water.

The silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm, often referred to as "mulberry" silk.
"Shinju" means pearl in Japanese.

10 yards (1/2 skein fits onto a standard sewing machine bobbin)
