65 Roses® 'Rose Lake' - Thread, Serenity (8/2 reeled thread)

Price: $7.95

Serenity—100% Reeled Silk—8/2 silk thread;10 yards

USUALLY inspired by and named for actual roses, many 65 Roses® are limited edition colorways--only blooming once!  And new ones will bloom each season.
THIS COLORWAY IS A LIMITED EDITION

We wanted to add a blue colorway, but there are no naturally occuring blue roses.  Applying a bit of creative license to our rose inspired theme, we found Rose Lake in Ohio, with beautiful deep blues.  Click HERE to see Rose Lake in Summer (you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the page) that inspired this colorway

“65 Roses®” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.

Treenway Silks donates a minimum 10% of sales to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in honor of Andrea's angels, to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Since developing the 65 Roses® colorways in 2017, Treenway Silks has donated $3,250 through March 31, 2020—we appreciate your support as we work toward our 2020 goal!

Serenity—100% Reeled Silk—8/2 silk thread

--thread size is between a #5 and #3 perle
--this 2-ply thread has a bit softer twist than a typical perle thread
--each of the 2-strands is comprised of many parallel, unbroken silk filaments
--the minimal twist keeping the silk filaments together, paired with the softer ply twist, gives this silk thread the most sheen and luster of any of Treenway Silks’ threads
--can be divided (with care, as the silk filaments can separate from one another, especially in dry climates)

Hand-dyed in Colorado--color fast. We use acid dyes with heat and then rinse until water runs clear.
Wash in tepid or slightly warm water.

The silk is from the Bombyx mori silk worm, often referred to as "mulberry" silk.

10 yards (1/2 skein fits onto a standard sewing machine bobbin)
