Kit - Rigid Heddle Weaving - "Ribbed Stripes" Silk Scarf
LIMITED EDITION Rigid Heddle Weaving Kit designed and woven by Peg MacMorris
A design by Jane Patrick using bundles of warp threads grouped in one slot, producing a vertical “rib” was Peg’s design inspiration.
Peg used 6-thread bundles of Jorie II silk to make a lustrous rib in this silk scarf--no special reed needed--you'll use your 10-dent reed.
Peg’s ribs are interspersed with areas containing Noil Silk, creating a subtle color and weave effect. Noil is an economical silk with a lovely, “rustic” feel.
Peg used #401 Blue Slate to weave the scarf (middle). She also wove it using a relatively light-value color #215 Eucalyptus (green, left) and it looks fabulous. Joy wove it in #958 Gypsy Passion (right) for all you passionate red-violet people!
We have dyed seven of our favorite colors for you to choose from...if you don't see the color (pictured left) in the drop down box, it's sold out.
Your Limited Edition "Ribbed Stripes" Silk Scarf Kit makes a beautiful scarf approximately approximately 5.25” wide and 62 inches finished length (including fringe), and includes:
--190 yds (90g) of hand-dyed Jorie II (100% spun silk yarn, DK weight)
--75 yds (16g) Alirio-thicker (100% silk noil yarn)

And, as a limited edition kit, once gone, this scarf kit is retired forever!
