The Montano Series brings you brilliant hand–painted variegated silk threads and ribbon for your quilting, stitching and embroidery. It is the result of a collaboration between Treenway Silks and international fibre artist Judith Baker Montano.

A seductive variety of rich, soft, vibrant and dusky colourways was created by drawing from Treenway's palette of 100 hand–dyed colours. Colour changes occur at 1½ to 2 inch intervals which produce painterly colour sequences.

The Montano Series totals 74 colourways and is available in 3 types of silk thread:

• 6 Strand Silk Floss

Burmese Embellishments

Each 4" x 4½" embellishment is lavishly covered with bronze sequins, all hand sewn on stretched cloth in Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma).

Decorative stitching and beads give character to each of these six symbolic creatures:
tiger, horse, camel, dragon, elephant and peacock.

The embellished cloth is layered with handmade paper and backed with cotton to keep its shape. Each ornament comes with a written description of the history of the creature.
